Indiana Woman Sentenced for Stealing Nursing Home Meds

Posted on Tuesday, November 10th, 2009 at 8:50 am

A woman in Clinton, Indiana has been sentenced to probation after she pleaded guilty to fraudulently obtaining pharmaceutical medication from nursing home residents. If you suspect an elderly person in your family is being mistreated at a nursing home facility, the eldercare abuse lawyers of Levinson Axelrod can help fight for compensation.

According to staff, the woman had been removing Fentanyl patches from elderly female patients. Fentanyl is a pain suppressant, similar to morphine but more powerful. She later called the nursing home, claiming to be a representative of the pharmaceutical company which makes Fentanyl, issuing a recall for the product.
