Kentucy Protestors Rally Against Budget Cuts

Posted on Tuesday, November 17th, 2009 at 3:16 pm

Hundreds of elderly citizens turned out to protest a Kentucky budget reduction which would cut programs for the aging and elderly. If an elderly member of your family has been the victim of eldercare neglect, the New Jersey nursing home attorneys of Levinson Axelrod can help them fight for compensation.

The rally took place in Frankfort, after Gov. Beshear’s statement to state government agencies to prepare for 6% cuts to the current budget in the face of Kentucky’s faltering economy. Hundreds of elderly citizens rallied together with interest group AARP to protest the budget cuts with chants of “No cuts, we vote.” About 20,000 senior citizens are waiting for services.
