Woman Faces Charges for Elderly Abuse

On Tuesday, a woman was arrested and charged with two counts of battery on a person that is 65 or older. The woman was a personal care assistant who was formerly employed by Homestead Village Retirement Center. An investigation revealed that the woman used a pillow to cover the face of an 86-year-old patient who was in her care. She also pushed the patient down multiple times, causing the patient to bruise. If she is convicted of both counts, she could face 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
