A former nursing home worker in New York has been charged with sexually abusing an elderly woman who resided at a nursing home where the man once worked.

The 54-year-old man was charged with fondling a 78-year-old woman when he worked at the Northwoods Rehabilitation Center and Extended Care Facility in 2007 and 2008. The man was sentenced to a decade of probation after pleading guilty to attempted first-degree sexual abuse in January. The man still faces another a charge of third-degree sexual abuse against a resident Eddy Ford Nursing Home in Cohoes in late 2008.
