Illinois Health Department officials have recently ordered the closure of a nursing home in Illinois after it failed to meet standards.
The closure of this nursing home will be sending 15 residents to different facilities in the area. The home has up to 90 days to pay a $12,000 fine, surrender their license and move the remaining residents.
The Department of Health found that the nursing home failed to protect its residents and found that some patients were abusing other patients. The facility was unable to properly maintain the safety of each resident which is large problem that resulted in the revocation of its license, which is a rare event.
