The family of an 84-year-old nursing home resident has claimed that their loved one was assaulted while in the care of a nursing home staff member.
The man’s health was declining and he suffered from dementia and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease which is why the family had to make the difficult decision to put the man into a nursing home so the he could be supervised at all times.
The nursing home allegedly called the family to tell them that their father needed to be taken to the hospital to be looked at after he had been hit. TheĀ nursing home later changed their story to say that he was lightly tapped and not hit.
The family says that the marks on their father show that he was hit because there is distinct markings on his back. The person accused of hitting their father has been fired, but they are still pushing for an investigation into the facility.
