In East Windsor, New Jersey, traffic is finally moving again on the New Jersey Turnpike after a large construction accident caused several delays.
According to a state trooper, a large piece of steel that was connected to a crane became dislodged and collided with a vehicle on the New Jersey Turnpike. The steel beam took off part of the motor vehicle’s roof. The driver of the car, a 63-year-old Newark man, was not severely injured in the accident but was taken to a local hospital to be treated for cuts to his body.
The construction accident caused a back-up of cars that stretched for seven miles. Two separate lanes on the Northbound side of the New Jersey Turnpike were shut down for approximately two hours. Police are still looking into the accident.
