Construction workers face higher possibility of death at work

A new study has just been released by the Center for Construction Research and Training regarding the risk of dying on the job.

The study found that individuals who are employed in the construction industry are five times more likely to suffer a fatal injury on the job than any other profession. The author of the study noted that people in the construction industry account for six percent to eight percent of the workforce, but 20 percent of work-related deaths.

Other findings indicated that falls at work are the most common form of injuries and deaths related to construction accidents. The second leading cause of deaths in the construction field deals with transportation accidents.
