Man dies while working at a construction site

Posted on Thursday, February 9th, 2012 at 10:41 pm

A man was working on a construction site in Forsyth County, Georgia when the machinery he was operating struck a tree. The construction accident happened on Thursday around 11:30 a.m. at a homesite that was being remodeled.

The man, who has been classified as in his middle ages, was sitting in the cab of a skid-steer loader when it is believed that he lost tracking of the machinery, and slid into a tree. By the time emergency personnel arrived on the scene the man had passed away.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration was notified of the accident, and arrived at the scene of the accident in order to conduct a thorough investigation. It took additional equipment in order to remove the skid-steer loader from the tree, and to extract the man’s body from the machine.

Our thoughts are with the victim’s family and friends during this tragic time.
