Work at World Trade Center stops when steel beams fall

Posted on Friday, February 17th, 2012 at 6:17 pm

Yesterday, construction was stopped at the World Trade Center construction site in Manhattan because several steel beams were dropped from a crane at the site. The accident occurred at around 10 a.m. at the site of the future 72-story building.

The steal beams were being lifted by a crane about 40-stories high on the tower’s south side when a cable supporting the beams broke. Beams fell onto a truck at the site that had delivered them. No debris left the construction site, and nearby work and the 9/11 Memorial stayed opened after the accident.

Fortunately, no one was injured in this accident. However, accidents at construction sites can be very dangerous and potentially fatal. If you or a loved one has been injured in a construction accident caused by a defective product like a cable, contact the New Jersey defective products attorneys of Levinson Axelrod, P.A. at 800-346-5529 today.
